What you can expect

Five things this shop does on every order. None of them is a claim about quality; each is a description of how the shop behaves.

• Product pages that state how the garment is cut, the chest or waist each size is made to fit in centimetres, and exactly what arrives in the parcel.
• Prices and checkout totals shown in pounds sterling. The price on the product page is the price you pay for the item, and delivery is shown before you pay.
• UK delivery with tracking on every order, with handling days and transit days stated separately before you order rather than after.
• Thirty days to change your mind on unworn items, on top of your statutory fourteen-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
• Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which nothing on this site limits or replaces.

Why the range is this small

Almost everything that goes wrong when you buy clothes online is a description problem. A t-shirt arrives shorter than the photograph suggested. A pair of jeans is a size that fits nobody. The listing said nothing useful, so there was no way to know until the parcel was open.

A small range is the fix. Six garments can each be measured and written up properly. Six hundred cannot, and the shops that carry six hundred solve it by writing nothing at all.

So SRAR carries two categories. When we add a colour it gets its own listing, with its own photographs and its own measurements, rather than hiding behind a dropdown on somebody else's page.

How to order the right size

Ignore the letter on the label. It means something different in every shop. Use the measurements instead.

1. Measure something you already own.Lay a t-shirt or a pair of jeans flat and measure it across the chest, or across the waist, in centimetres.
2. Compare it against the size guide.Every listing carries a table showing the chest or waist each size is cut to fit. Find the row closest to the garment that already fits you.
3. Read the fit note.It says whether the garment is cut relaxed, regular or straight, and how that compares with standard UK sizing.
4. Ask us if you are between sizes.Email or call with the measurements you took and we will tell you which size to order.
